These cylinders are made from two pieces of bent glass to form a full round liner. Bending glass is a process whereby a blank of sheet glass is placed on a stainless steel, sheet steel or cast iron mold in a glass furnace, or kiln. The kiln temperature is increased until the glass sheet sinks into or over the mold. Round pipe or square tubing may be used for molds. Metal by Myers & Company |
